Word of the Day is a simple app that shows one uncommon English word each day. This policy explains what data the app handles. In short: the app does not collect personal information, has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers.
Your favourite words and your settings (theme, notification preference and time, pronunciation style) are stored only on your own device. A copy of the word list is also cached on your device so the app works offline. None of this is transmitted to us, and it is removed if you uninstall the app.
The app downloads its word list from our service (hosted on Cloudflare). These are ordinary network requests for app content; they do not include any personal information about you. As with any website or app, our hosting provider may process technical details such as your IP address transiently to deliver the response. We do not use this to identify you and we do not retain personal profiles.
If you enable the daily reminder, it is scheduled locally on your device. No personal data is sent to us to deliver it.
The app is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "last updated" date.
